LTU Dual Enrollment

We are excited to offer eligible 10th-12th grade UPSM students the opportunity to participate in Dual Enrollment at Lawrence Technological University (LTU). Through this program, students can take college-level courses and earn college credits while still in high school at no cost to families.

Eligibility Requirements

Students must have a minimum 2.7 GPA to participate. Because these are college-level courses, students should be academically prepared, responsible, and able to balance their LTU coursework with their regular UPSM classes.

Courses Offered

Students will have the opportunity to select from the following LTU courses:

• COM1003 – Sports Culture and Science Research

• CRW2513 – Creative Writing

• COM2113 – Speech

• EGE1012 – Introduction to Engineering

• PSY1213 – Introduction to Psychology

• MCO1013 – Audio for TV and Video Production

Class Schedule & Location

Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 AM–9:30 AM at

Lawrence Technological University

Important Dates:

First Day of Class: 9/17/26

Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring their student arrives at the LTU campus before 8:00 AM every Tuesday and Thursday. Students should arrive with enough time to locate their classroom and be seated and ready when class begins.

Following class at 9:30 AM, students must report directly to Building 5 to board the UPSM bus back to school.

Students are responsible for getting to the bus on time. If a student misses the return bus for any reason, it is the family's responsibility to pick the student up from LTU and transport them back to UPSM so they can attend the remainder of their school-day classes.

Academic, Attendance & Behavior Expectations

Participation in dual enrollment is a privilege. While there is no cost to students or families, UPSM assumes the financial cost associated with students participating in these college courses.

Because of this investment, students are expected to take this opportunity seriously. Participating students must:

• Maintain at least the required 2.7 GPA for program eligibility.

• Attend LTU classes consistently and arrive on time.

• Maintain appropriate behavior and represent UPSM professionally while on LTU's campus.

• Follow all LTU and UPSM rules and expectations.

• Successfully complete their LTU course with a grade of C or higher.

• Remain responsible for their regular UPSM coursework, grades, and attendance.

• Report to Building 5 immediately following class to ensure they do not miss transportation back to UPSM.

Students who do not meet the academic, attendance, transportation, or behavioral expectations of the program may be dismissed from dual enrollment participation.

Attendance Is Mandatory

Parent/guardian collaboration is essential for participation in this program. Before signing up, families should carefully consider the transportation commitment required.

Students must be able to attend every Tuesday and Thursday and have reliable transportation to LTU before 8:00 AM. If your family cannot consistently provide morning transportation or your student cannot commit to regular attendance, please do not sign up for the program.

Dual enrollment provides students with an incredible opportunity to experience college-level coursework, earn college credits, and explore areas of interest while still in high school. However, with this opportunity comes an increased level of responsibility and accountability.
